Time-Lapse Incubator

For In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments we use an incubator with a Time Lapse system in order to increase the pregnancy rate of our patients by 9%

What is a Time-Lapse Incubator?

The Time-Lapse System analyzes embryo development and the rate of cell division. This allows us to improve embryo selection and provide a growth record through videos and images. This Time-Lapse technology optimizes the culture conditions for embryos, providing accurate information for selecting those with the highest implantation potential and, thus, increasing the chances of pregnancy.

What are the benefits?

  • Higher chances of achieving pregnancy: this method selects the embryo with the highest implantation potential and more accurately determines the optimal timing for transfer to the maternal uterus.
  • Lower risk of embryo manipulation: monitoring the embryo allows observation of its morphological characteristics without risk. This reduces environmental stress and increases the chances of successful implantation.
  • Fewer attempts to achieve pregnancy: the waiting time and the number of attempts to achieve pregnancy are reduced, effectively shortening the time to pregnancy.
  • Visual record of embryo development: the incubator allows for a cinematic tracking of the embryo, generating a visual record to remember the evolution of the future baby up to the moment of transfer.

Who is it recommended for?

All patients undergoing assisted reproduction treatments at our centers. Patients with a larger number of embryos have a more significant impact since our specialists can compare multiple embryos and carefully analyze the best selection.

What is embryo selection?

Embryo selection is a process we use in assisted reproduction to determine and select the highest quality embryos for implantation among all generated embryos. It is a quick and non-invasive method, but it has the disadvantage of subjectivity, as it is not possible to standardize the selection.

However, it is crucial to have specialized and trained professionals like those at WeFIV to accurately evaluate embryonic competence. Thanks to Time-Lapse technology, we can collect more information about each embryo, allowing us to implement various selection strategies to determine the best embryo for implantation and, consequently, increase the chances of pregnancy.

The incorporation of these technologies in embryo selection optimizes the results obtained, as we can identify in real-time how the embryo is developing and determine whether it is time for implantation. Additionally, we can more easily identify embryos with the best reproductive potential, resulting in fewer attempts needed to achieve pregnancy.
